Pre Shoot Checklist

We want to obtain the best images possible of your property.  Web appeal is the new curb appeal!  The images posted online give buyers a critical first impression.

Cleaning, organizing and staging is paramount for great photos.  Prep work before the shoot will result in big rewards when your property looks stunning online.  Our goals are to help you sell or book your property quickly, for the highest possible price and generate more online interest with amazing photos.

To get your property ready for us to shoot, we have compiled the following checklist to make sure that your photos will appear attractive online.

EXTERIORS

  • Remove all vehicles from the driveway, and try not to park directly in front of the house.

  • Remove garbage and recycle bins and landscaping supplies to the inside of a garage or put them in storage.

  • Close garage doors.

  • Turn on outside lights.

  • Coil garden hoses or remove them.

  • Clean the pool and remove pool cleaners.  If there are pool water features, such as waterfalls or lights, make sure they are turned on for the shoot.  If you have temporary child fencing around your pool, take it down for the shoot.

  • Remove security signs from flowerbeds.

  • Open patio umbrellas and neatly arrange outdoor furniture.

  • Sweep leaves and debris from driveways, walkways, patios and decks.

  • Have the lawn freshly mowed and the landscaping looking its best.

INTERIORS

  • Vacuum and clean carpets and sweep wooden and tile floors.

  • Verify that all interior lights are working and replace any burned out lightbulbs.

  • Turn on all ceiling and wall lights and turn on all lamps.  The brighter, the better!

  • Turn off all ceiling fans so that the blades are not moving.

  • Remove docking stations, cell phones, chargers, remote controls, newspapers and magazines.

  • Remove all signs of pets - food and water bowls, leashes, litter boxes, dog beds, dog toys, etc.

  • Plan to remove your pet or pets from the premises during the shoot.

  • Remove excess furniture and clutter from all rooms, including family photos and memorabilia.

  • Clean all windows.

KITCHEN

  • Remove everyday items from countertops to make the kitchen look as large as possible.  Store toasters, blenders, paper towel rolls, towels and food items out of view.

  • Close all cabinet doors and drawers, and wipe down countertops.

  • Make certain that there are no dirty dishes in the sink.

  • Remove all stickers, magnets, artwork and notes from the front and sides of the refrigerator.

BATHROOMS

  • Remove all personal care items and clutter from countertops.

  • Close the toilet lid.

  • Remove soaps, shampoos, etc. from showers and tubs.

  • Remove waste baskets, toilet brushes and plungers.

  • Clean bathroom mirrors.

BEDROOMS

  • Straighten and smooth bedspreads.

  • Remove items from underneath the bed if the bed linens don't extend to the floor.

  • Remove books, glasses, Kleenex boxes, photos, etc. from night stands and dressers.

  • Place board games, toys, clothes, slippers and robes into closets.
